| Overview | : | Al vanaf zijn 18e droomt Henk Vreekamp (64) ervan om te emigreren. En samen met zijn vrouw Nies (57) bekijkt hij jarenlang panden in onder andere Frankrijk en Duitsland, maar Nies ziet het niet zitten om te vertrekken. Als ze zeven jaar geleden weer eens met tegenzin meegaat om panden te bekijken in voormalig Oost-Duitsland, komen ze opeens bij een pand waar Nies uitroept: 'Hier zou ik wel oud willen worden!' Henk weet niet wat hij hoort en ze kopen het huis zonder het van binnen te zien op een veiling. Afgelopen jaren klust Henk in zijn vrije tijd hard om het oude schoolgebouw om te bouwen tot een aantal appartementen. Het plan was om te emigreren als Henk 65 is, maar de kachelzaak die Henk jarenlang had, loopt door de crisis slecht en daardoor is er niet genoeg geld om het huis op te knappen. Nies moet daarom noodgedwongen nog in Nederland werken, terwijl Henk al wel naar Duitsland vertrekt. Hun volwassen zoon en dochter blijven ook in Nederland achter. De verbouwing gaat een stuk langzamer dan gepland, het geld is op en Henk en Nies missen elkaar enorm. Gaat het Henk ooit lukken om het klusproject af te krijgen en kan Nies zich snel bij hem voegen, zodat ze hier samen, met de gasten erbij, gelukkig oud kunnen worden? |
